It has to be said that I am a sucker for snazzy mobile phones and most of my favourite ones over the years have been ones that I bought while on a business trip abroad as there are many different and often unique models which are just not marketed here.
I have my local number which I bought on a sim only basis and basically this is compatible with just about any phone that I choose to buy – although it might not be compatible with phones from all countries so you do have to be a little careful.
My favourite one was one I bought several years ago in the Middle East, a real ladies' phone with the most gorgeous crystals and a mirror on the handset for lipstick checks. I was devastated when it finally got so scratched that I had to throw it away.
Then there was the one I bought in Russia, which I bought on impulse after being seduced by the billboards all week long. I finally succumbed on the way back to the airport and did the dirty deed in just a few minutes.
The only problem was that the keys are in Russian and also when it locked for some reason I had to wait until my next trip back there for a friend to sort it out for me.
